Paint your cube

Pick a color, then click stickers to paint them. Right-click erases a sticker. Keyboard 1-6 switches colors. The small ring marks the fixed centers.

Cube health check

This state is solvable — ready to go.

How to solve the Rubik's Cube

From a scrambled cube to a solved one in three steps — no prior knowledge needed.

1

Paint your cube

Turn your real cube so one face looks at you, then paint each sticker in the editor to match what you see. The centers show which color each face should be.

2

Press Solve

The solver first checks that your cube is physically solvable, then computes a short solution — typically about 20 moves — using a two-phase algorithm.

3

Follow the 3D steps

Play the solution at your own speed and turn your real cube exactly like the 3D preview. After the last move your cube is solved.

Why use this Rubik's Cube solver

A focused, free tool that does one thing well: getting your cube solved.

Short, near-optimal solutions

The Kociemba two-phase algorithm computes solutions of about 20 moves — close to the mathematical optimum, since no scramble needs more than 20.

Step-by-step 3D guidance

Watch every move on an animated 3D cube, play it at your own speed, step forward and back, and jump to any move in the list.

Cube health check

The solver detects impossible states — twisted corners, flipped edges, swapped pieces — and tells you exactly what to fix on your physical cube.

Private by design

Painting, checking and solving all happen in your browser. Nothing you paint is ever uploaded to a server.

Free forever, no account

No sign-up, no paywall, no move limits, no ads gating the solver. Open the page and solve.

Rubik's Cube notation guide

Each move is named after the face you turn, viewed from that face. The solution list uses the same letters.

FF — turn the front face a quarter turn clockwise (as seen from the front).
